Ms. Patricia Ryan

Owner and Director of the Hamilton Academy of Dance & Hamilton Ballet Company, is a retired professional ballet dancer who was a member and soloist with the Central Connecticut Ballet in CT, the Westchester Ballet in NY and the Scottish-American Ballet in Edinburgh, Scotland to name a few.  Ms. Ryan began training in the Vaganova method from age of five, at many prestigious Ballet schools including the Darvash Studios in NY, NY.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre & Dance from the University of Wyoming.  Ms. Ryan performed with many other dance companies and has taught dance all over the United States.  She was a professional Ballet Mistress for the University of Wyoming Dance Tour Company and is an accomplished Choreographer in many forms of dance.

Ms. Ryan was trained in NY, NY by the world-renowned Kirov-trained teacher Madame Gabriela Darvash.  She was the Artistic Director and resident choreographer for the State Opera Ballet in Cluj, Romania for 14 years.  Since 1972 she has resided in New York, running her own school from 1976 to 1988.  The New York Times’ Anna Kisselgoff and Jennifer Dunning have praised her ability to create beautiful, strong, artistically expressive dancers.  The New York Times also quotes Mikhail Baryshnikov calling Madame Darvash "one of the distinguished and fine ballet pedegogues in America."  One of her students, a principal dancer with New York City Ballet, has written "her method of teaching has changed my life...her devotion to this method and the care she takes with each of her students reminds me very much of the way Mr. Balanchine used to teach his classes."
